rant from my last "hallo, hallo, hallo..." e-mail...

watched some movies at home... "boys from brazil" with lawrence olivier and gregory peck was fun... pretty out and creepy... watched "chinatown" again and still ended up crying... everything about that movie absolutely breaks my heart... "death wish" with charles bronson... was fun... he's pretty awesome... am sure many of you remember him from all those great westerns including "once upon a time in the west"... god, THAT's a fucking great movie... well, "chinatown" is a fucking great movie too...
oh, i've been going to the dumpling house on eldridge between broom and grand a lot last week... low in cash so it worked out great... usually i get those yummy tasty dumplings, 5 for $1, but since it was cold, i tried their wonton soup... and it was amazing... it had tons of cilantro and dried tiny white shrimps (sorry, kosher folks and the one who's allergic) and soooo much flavor for a buck... then they make this thick sesame pancake which goes for $1 a slice... but also they make sandwiches out of this crispy yummy bread... the one i had was with tuna salad and carrots and other stuff... oh, boy, the first one i got was made right after they made a fresh sesame pancake, and it was just delicious... the tuna sandwich is light in mayo and full of cilantro... so creamy between that crunch hot sesame pancake with a touch of worcester sauce... wow... but be aware, the second time which was day after, heh heh heh, i got one with a pancake that had been sitting there and it wasn't as good... but they do make it very often so i'm sure you can check one out with fresh bread pretty easily... they are not the most friendly people but don't let that discourage you from asking or waiting inside...
also have been looking for a decent hot chocolate in east village... haven't tried that many places yet... but guess finding someting better than jacques torres' hot chocolate... went to bourgeois pig on east 7th between avenue a and 1st avenue which looks great from outside with all theglorious reviews... ordered dark hot chocolate and it was so disappointing... whip cream and a little ginger bread man was good though... but that was about it... also got a sugar beniet (popular doughnut like pastry from new orleans) which was supposed to be one of their specialties and it was tough... had a hard time even cutting it through with a fork... yikes...
also been going to minca quiet bit... the ramen place on east 5th street between avenue a & b... perfect for this weather... they added shrimp dumpling... and it's great... each dumpling has a full shrimp and pan fried so nicely... also i hear that now they have ramen with chicken broth... so now my friends who have shellfish allergy or eat kosher can enjoy their delicious ramen...
hmm...
what else can i complain about...
